Job Responsibilities

The Construction Helper will assist with a variety of construction and site-support duties, including:

• Loading, unloading and transporting construction materials.
• Setting up and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades.
• Mixing, pouring and spreading concrete and asphalt.
• Assisting with pipe alignment during pipeline construction.
• Supporting drilling and rock-blasting activities.
• Levelling earth according to required grade specifications.
• Assisting with building demolition.
• Cleaning chemical spills and other contaminants.
• Removing rubble and debris from construction sites.
• Directing traffic at or around construction areas.
• Following workplace safety procedures and instructions.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience.
• English language ability.
• Ability to work on site.
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction duties.
• Reliability and willingness to work as part of a construction team.
