Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals.
- Work within established food and catering budgets.
- Assist with menu development and ordering.
- Manage food allergens and nutritional requirements.
- Cater for functions when required.
- Assist with general kitchen and cleaning duties.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and food safety.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- At least 2 years of Chef experience.
- NZQA Level 4 Cookery qualification or equivalent is an advantage.
- Alternatively, 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualification.
- Strong food safety and hygiene knowledge.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Passion for food, customer service and quality.
Food safety certificates such as Unit Standards 167 and 168 are preferred.
Successful applicants must also pass a satisfactory police clearance.
