Responsibilities
The hairstylist will be responsible for duties including:
- Booking customer appointments
- Cutting and trimming hair according to clients’ preferences
- Shampooing customers’ hair
- Shaving and trimming beards and moustaches
- Performing hair treatments such as waving, straightening and tinting
- Providing scalp conditioning treatments and massages
- Applying bleach, dyes, tints and rinses
- Cutting, tapering, curling, waving, perming and styling hair
- Recommending hairstyles based on clients’ physical features and preferences
- Performing receptionist duties when required
Requirements
Education
Applicants should have:
- An other trades certificate or diploma; or
- Equivalent experience
Experience
Previous experience is considered an asset.
Licence
Applicants must have a Hairstylist Licence.

- Blow drying
- Iron waving/curling
- Permanents
- Roller setting
Hair colouring:
- Bleaching
- Dyes and tints
- Frosting
- Streaking/highlights
