Visa Sponsorship for International Applicants
One of the key features of this vacancy for overseas applicants is that Operose Health states that it can provide support for a Tier 2 visa if required, subject to approval by the GMC and GP Performers List.
This means eligible international doctors may be able to pursue the appropriate UK work visa with employer support.
However, visa sponsorship is not automatic. Candidates must satisfy the relevant professional registration, licensing, immigration and employment requirements.
Before applying, international applicants should make sure they understand the requirements for:
- GMC registration
- GP accreditation
- NHS Performers List inclusion
- UK immigration/work visa eligibility
- Evidence of qualifications and professional experience
Applicants should also confirm the current visa route and sponsorship arrangements directly with the employer before relying on the vacancy for immigration purposes.

- Salary of up to £112,500 per year, depending on experience.

How to Tailor Your CV for This General Practitioner Role
If you are applying for this position, your CV should be specifically tailored to General Practice and UK clinical requirements rather than using a generic medical CV.
Highlight your GMC and professional status
Place your professional registration near the top of your CV. Clearly state your GMC registration status, GP accreditation and NHS Performers List status if applicable.
For example:
Professional Registration
- GMC Registered Doctor
- MRCGP / Equivalent GP Qualification
- NHS Performers List: [Status]
If you are an overseas doctor who has not yet completed a particular UK registration requirement, state your current status honestly rather than claiming that you are already registered.
Emphasise General Practice experience
Your professional experience should clearly demonstrate your GP/primary care background.
Highlight experience involving:
- Patient consultations
- Diagnosis and treatment
- Chronic disease management
- Medication reviews
- Telephone triage
- Preventive healthcare
- Safeguarding
- Clinical documentation
- Referrals
- Multidisciplinary teamwork
- Home visits
- Clinical governance
- Audit and quality improvement
Mention relevant UK primary care knowledge
If you have experience with QOF, LCS, DES, CQUINs, CQC standards, clinical coding, SystmOne or EMIS Web, make these easy for the recruiter to find.
Show measurable achievements
Where possible, include results rather than simply listing responsibilities.
For example, instead of:
“Participated in clinical audits.”
Use:
“Participated in clinical audits that supported improvements in patient monitoring and adherence to primary care quality standards.”
Only include achievements that accurately reflect your experience.
For overseas applicants
If you require sponsorship, make your professional eligibility clear. Include relevant international qualifications, clinical experience and your progress toward UK registration where applicable.
Do not state that you are eligible for sponsorship unless you have confirmed that you meet the relevant requirements.

Important Note for International Applicants
OpportunityShape shares job opportunities that may offer visa sponsorship or a potential route for international applicants to obtain work authorisation. Visa sponsorship depends on the employer, the specific vacancy and the applicant meeting all relevant immigration and professional requirements.
For this vacancy, the employer specifically states that Tier 2 visa support may be available, subject to GMC registration and GP Performers List approval.
Always verify the current sponsorship arrangements and eligibility requirements with the employer before making travel, financial or immigration commitments.
