Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work on data engineering, data warehousing and data lake projects using AWS technologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining data pipelines.
- Building data warehouse and data lake solutions.
- Working with AWS data services.
- Using Python for data engineering tasks.
- Designing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Working with large-scale data stored in different formats.
- Building data processing and orchestration workflows.
- Managing code through Git and collaborative development processes.
- Working with technical and non-technical teams to deliver data solutions.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- 5+ years of professional data engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on AWS data services experience.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience with data warehousing or data lake development.
- Experience with AWS S3.
- Experience with AWS Glue and AWS Lambda.
- Knowledge of EventBridge and AWS Step Functions.
- Experience with AWS Glue Data Catalog and Athena.
- Knowledge of data formats including Parquet, ORC, CSV, JSON or Avro.
- Experience with Git, including branching and merging.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills
The following are considered an advantage:
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Docker, ECS or Kubernetes.
- Experience with machine learning data pipelines or MLOps.
- Knowledge of data governance.
- Experience with data modelling techniques such as dimensional modelling or data vault.
